John Hubbell

John Hubbell is a four-time Emmy Award-winning writer/producer of American documentary film and media. In 2007, he founded Old Bridge Media as a collaborative incubator for work with visual journalists, designers and principled clients.

Recent/current work as writer/director/producer includes a series on diabetes among U.S. Latinos for Univision; web series for Columbia and Cornell universities; and “A World Gone Crazy,” a feature-length documentary on a Memphis soul singer struggling to reconcile with his past, to debut in 2019. He has also worked to create the master narrative for the B.B. King Museum; a documentary series for MTV New Media; and videos for The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

A California native, John served previously as a reporter and editor on the national, foreign and political staffs of The Associated Press, the San Francisco Chronicle and The New York Times international edition. He holds degrees from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and UNC Chapel Hill.
