Alicia Shepard 

Winter quarter 2020

 

Feature Writing (JOUR 407) is taught in winter quarter by Alicia Shepard, an award-winning journalist, author and media critic. 

 

Shepard spent four years interviewing more than 175 people linked to Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein, and the Watergate break-in. These interviews resulted in Shepard’s book, “Life in the Shadow of Watergate.” Her current work includes projects with the International Women’s Media Foundation, where Shepard helps to break down barriers female journalists face in the U.S. and abroad.

 

Her resume includes former ombudsman for NPR, current contributor to USA Today, correspondent in Afghanistan, and champion for women and diversity in the news industry.
