Whitney Szentesi teaches Public Relations writing in the Journalism Department at Cal Poly, SLO. She has more than 10 years of experience in the communications industry, including as a newspaper journalist and as a public relations professional for nonprofit, private- and public-sector organizations.

She currently works full time as the social media and communications analyst for the County of San Luis Obispo’s Administrative Office, where she is responsible for planning, coordinating and assisting in countywide marketing and branding efforts. Whitney earned her bachelor's degree in Journalism from Cal Poly SLO. She later went on to receive the "Top 20 Under 40" Award in San Luis Obispo County via The Tribune in 2014. She has served on various nonprofit Boards and committees and is both a graduate and former class chair of Leadership San Luis Obispo.
