Ara Najarian

Ara Najarian directs public relations for Tenet Health Central Coast, which consists of two acute care hospitals, including the County’s trauma center, and affiliated urgent care centers, clinics and ancillary services, across the Central Coast.

Prior to joining Tenet Health, Mr. Najarian was the Senior Partner of Latino Consultants, LLC, a social marketing and public relations firm focused on access issues for underserved communities. During his nearly 20 years with the firm, he achieved numerous honors and was named as a “Health Care Hero” by Latino Leaders Magazine for innovative content delivery that “set the gold standard for online health communication.”

Mr. Najarian has an extensive background in journalism, thanks to a couple of early starts: Hired by NBC News (KMIR) as a news assistant and camera operator while still in high school, Mr. Najarian later joined the Los Angeles Times while still completing his degree in History at USC. As a reporter and editor for the Times, Mr. Najarian covered major beats and earned a prestigious Associated Press Sports Editors (APSE) Award for investigative reporting regarding media, crime and athletes.

Recruited to help develop Tickets.com’s consumer engagement, Mr. Najarian rose to become the International and Executive Producer during the company’s greatest growth and helped position its merger with Major League Baseball. Mr. Najarian’s work with underserved communities has earned numerous recognitions at State, County and municipal levels, as well as by national organizations.

He has also served in academia as a lecturer, panelist and consultant – including at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Los Angeles, Occidental College, UC Berkeley and USC.
